Birla Institute of Technology and Science (BITS), Pilani, is the top-rated private institution, situated in Pilani in the Rajasthan state of India. The Institution was founded in 1964 by late Mr. G.D Birla, who was an eminent industrialist. In the initial state, the institute was a regional engineering college which was later changed into a deemed university under the UGC Act of 1956. It’s a computer-based online exam in which the candidates have to sit in front of a computer at the exam center which is associated to a server. Unlike the pen-paper based which is conducted in a single day; BITSAT exam is conducted for a period, as well as the student has to choose a date of his/her choice as well as to appear for the exam on the special date.
The nature of the questions in BITSAT is in the form of multiple choices as well as is displayed on the screen of the PC. The applicants have to mark the right answer among the given options. There are total 150 questions of maximum 486 marks to be finished in total 3-hour time-interval without a break. Candidates who have applied for admission to BTech, B.Pharm, and M.Sc programs can check their results on the official website – bitsadmission.com. Chosen candidates are essential to report at their own campuses for admission on or before November 2. Extra, BITS Pilani is inviting applications for PhD admissions; the last date to apply for the same is November 21.
BITS Pilani offers a range of undergraduate, postgraduate plus doctoral courses. BITS Pilani is very popular for integrated first degree in engineering. The institute offers Bachelor of Engineering (B.E.) Honors in special branches like Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electronics and Computer Science Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Instrumentation Engineering, Electrical and Electronics Engineering as well as Chemical Engineering. Apart from this, B.E.(Hons.), BITS-Pilani offers an undergraduate honors degree in B.Pharma. BITSAT online application forms are vacant in the month of January every year. The candidate can register online to fill the application form at the official website of BITS-Pilani. The whole admission process ends in the month of June.
The mode of payment of fee is online; however the candidate can choose to pay the fee offline during Cash Challan made in favor of BITS-Pilani. The candidates can take the printout of the online application form and the payment receipt for future reference.
BITSAT exam pattern is based on 11th as well as 12th NCERT syllabus. Still a high level of questions asked in the exam, the candidate can take NCERT books as a base as well as can arrange as a result. The online question paper is divided into four parts via which the questions are formed. The four parts includes the following things-
Part 1- Physics (40 questions)
Part 2- Chemistry (40 questions)
Part 3- Part 3 is subdivided into following 2 sections
Part 4- Mathematics (45 questions)
Once the candidate has attempted all the 150 questions before the completion of time, the candidate is then given an option to attempt 12 extra in the enduring time left. The extra questions are given from Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics part only.
BITSAT 2022 Counseling is being conducted in form of iterations with the release of the admission list and waiting list after each round. Candidates had to fill out their preferences for BITSAT counseling 2022 until September 8. The institute will release an admission list and waitlist after each round. There will be six rounds of BITSAT counseling in the form of iterations. Direct admissions will be given to all those students who have obtained the first rank in their respective State/ Central board exams, irrespective of their BITSAT 2022 Score. There is no reservation in BITSAT 2022.
For special branches of engineering, there are different cutoffs. The students can check the branch wise cutoffs of BITSAT exam. The BITSAT exam results are confirmed in the month of July every year. The results can be checked on the official website of BITS-Pilani.
BITSAT 2022 result for the second session was released on August 9. Candidates can check their obtained scores through the BITSAT result 2022 in the form of a scorecard. To download the BITSAT 2022 scorecard, the candidates will have to log in using their application number and password. Only eligible candidates who score the required minimum marks will be able to participate in the BITSAT 2022 counseling. The merit position of eligible candidates will be prepared on the basis of candidates’ BITSAT 2022 scores. For the first session, BITSAT 2022 scorecard was released on July 10. Two separate merit lists will be prepared on the basis of BITSAT 2022 scores: All Programs except B.Pharm and Only B.Pharm Program. In case two candidates have the same score, the following sequence will be considered while preparing the merit list.
First their BITSAT 2022 scores obtained in Mathematics/Biology will be considered.
If the tie still exists, then the scores in Physics will be considered.
