✅ ADMISSION ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA

🎓 ACADEMIC QUALIFICATION

• 12th pass (Science Stream) from a recognized educational board.
• Compulsory Subjects: Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics (PCM).
• Minimum aggregate marks of 60% in PCM.
• Minimum 50% marks in English (either in 10th or 12th standard).

📝 ENTRANCE EXAMINATION & MEDICAL FITNESS

• IMU-CET: Qualifying the Indian Maritime University Common Entrance Test (IMU-CET) is mandatory.
• Sponsorship Test: Clearing the entrance and interview of a DG Shipping-approved shipping company.
• Medical Fitness: Must be certified physically fit for sea service by a DG Shipping-approved doctor.
• Eye Sight: 6/6 in better eye and 6/9 in other eye; normal color vision (No color blindness).

⏳ AGE LIMIT

• Minimum age: 17 years.
• Maximum age: Generally 25 years (Age relaxation applies as per government/DG Shipping norms).

⏱️ COURSE DURATION & STRUCTURE

📅 TOTAL COURSE DURATION: 1 YEAR (PRE-SEA) + 18 MONTHS (ONBOARD)

• 1 Year Pre-Sea Training: 2 Semesters of intensive academic and practical training at a maritime institute.
• 18 Months Onboard Training: Structured Shipboard Training Program (SSTP) as a Deck Cadet on a merchant vessel (with stipend).
