The University Grants Commission (UGC) has announced a revised flexible exit policy under the National Education Policy framework. Students pursuing undergraduate degrees can now opt for certificate, diploma, or degree exits based on completed academic years. Education experts believe this move will reduce dropout stress and encourage skill-based learning pathways. Universities have also been instructed to implement Academic Bank of Credits (ABC) systems for seamless student mobility. The updated guidelines are expected to benefit lakhs of students across India during the 2026 admission session.
