12th pass (or equivalent) examination from a recognized board in the Science stream with Physics, Chemistry, Biology (PCB) and English as compulsory subjects. Candidates generally need a minimum of 45% to 50% aggregate marks (relaxation for reserved categories as per government norms).
Admission is primarily based on national, state-level, or university-level nursing entrance exams such as NEET UG, AIIMS B.Sc Nursing, PGIMER, JIPMER, and various state-conducted Common Entrance Tests (CET). Direct admission based on 12th merit scores is also available in select private colleges.
Upon successful completion of the degree, graduates must register themselves with their respective State Nursing Registration Council (SNRC) to practice as a Registered Nurse and Registered Midwife (RN/RM) under the guidelines of the Indian Nursing Council (INC).
Minimum age of 17 years by December 31st of the year of admission. The maximum age limit is generally 35 years (subject to variation based on institutional and government guidelines).
