Bachelor of Science in Aviation Technology is a specialized undergraduate degree program designed to provide comprehensive knowledge of the aviation industry and flight operations. This full-time course equips students with technical expertise in aircraft systems, aerodynamics, aviation safety, and airport management, preparing them for dynamic careers in commercial aviation, aerospace technology, ground operations, and air traffic management across India and globally.
B.Sc Aviation Technology is a professional program that systematically explores the scientific and operational principles of flight and aviation management. It integrates theoretical classroom learning with practical exposure to aircraft operations, meteorology, and navigation systems. Graduates serve as aviation experts, ground operation managers, flight dispatchers, and aviation safety officers who ensure smooth, efficient, and safe operations in the rapidly expanding aerospace sector.
Aerodynamics and principles of flight
Aircraft systems, engines, and onboard instruments
Aviation meteorology and weather forecasting
Air Traffic Control (ATC) and navigation systems
Aviation safety, security, and hazard management
Airport operations and ground handling
Aviation regulations, DGCA guidelines, and international air laws
Flight planning, dispatch operations, and fleet management
12th pass (or equivalent) examination from a recognized board in the Science stream with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics (PCM) as compulsory subjects. Candidates generally need a minimum of 45% to 50% aggregate marks (relaxation for reserved categories as per government norms).
Admission is primarily based on university-level entrance exams, state-level CETs, or national tests like AME CET (Aircraft Maintenance Engineering Common Entrance Test). Many universities also offer direct admission based on 12th board merit scores and personal interviews.
While no specific professional registration is required to pursue the degree, candidates aiming for specialized operational roles (such as Air Traffic Controller or Commercial Pilot later on) must meet strict medical fitness standards, including Class II / Class I medical assessments prescribed by the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA).
Minimum age of 17 years at the time of admission. There is generally no strict upper age limit for the degree, though specific aviation job roles may have age caps for freshers.
3 years of academic and practical coursework
6 semesters including theoretical study, simulator sessions, and industry visits
Semester-based examination system with continuous evaluation and project work
